CLAVE buyer guide

Choosing a B2B pipeline consultant

The useful buying question is not just who can generate more activity. It is who can help your business turn its relationships, customer knowledge and proof into qualified opportunities—and leave your team able to keep doing it.

Is this the right kind of support?

CLAVE focuses on founders, managing directors and commercial leaders of established B2B service businesses. The starting point is proven work, useful relationships and people who can act on opportunities. There is no employee-count threshold.

This approach may fit when proven work is not translating into growth, buyer messages are too broad, account growth depends on a few people or follow-up is inconsistent. The priority can be new business, existing accounts or both.

If you need self-service software, a list of contacts or a fixed number of meetings, that is a different purchase. CLAVE provides a scoped implementation service and team support. Your business receives a working opportunity creation capability.

Agree the scope before choosing the supplier.

Start with one growth application: reconnecting with previous buyers, expanding customers, converting existing engagement into conversations or approaching new accounts with relevant proof. A smaller first engagement may be valuable when there is a credible route to expansion; deal size alone does not make an opportunity right.

CLAVE designs, builds and helps embed the application inside your existing CRM and tools. The initial 30-day build and launch covers agreed preparation, workflows, execution owners and a review process. The commitment starts at the agreed project start with the required inputs and access available.

Ongoing adoption support and further applications are scoped separately. Agree investment, tool compatibility, any additional licence requirements and what your business will own before work starts.

Make responsibilities explicit.

Your business provides a commercial owner, usable evidence, agreed access and people with time to act. Your named commercial owners lead buyer conversations. CLAVE prepares the process and supports adoption; any additional execution services must be agreed.

Ask who checks research, approves messages, records outcomes and follows through after engagement. AI can support preparation, but it cannot guarantee budget, readiness or intent. A working process needs clear human responsibility as much as it needs CRM fields or automation.

Evaluate evidence, not just pipeline headlines.

Ask what was built, what advantage was used, who executed and how an opportunity was qualified. Separate pipeline value from closed revenue and check which timeframe belongs to each figure.

Confirm whether examples describe the consultant’s prior employed-role experience or engagements delivered by their business. Anonymised figures can inform a conversation, but they do not establish that the same result will happen for you.

CLAVE’s results page retains the previously published examples and states their evidence limits. Use that alongside the delivery scope, rather than treating a case headline as a forecast.
