The Exec Who Took You With Them

You transformed an account. Then the sponsor left for a bigger one and brought you with them. That is social proof you can carry.

The short answer

When an executive you helped succeed moves to a new company, they carry your proof with them. The result you delivered becomes a story they tell from memory, which opens the new account before you say a word. This is portable social proof.

We helped a leader fix something that had been broken for years. It worked. A year later they took a bigger role at a bigger company, and the first call they made was to us.

They did not need a deck. They had lived the result. They walked into the new account already believing, and they spent their own credibility introducing us. That is a different kind of selling. You are not the one making the case. The person who made it is the one who used to sign your invoices.

This is the most underrated asset in go-to-market. A transformed account is not just revenue. It is a person who will repeat the story for you, in rooms you will never get into, for as long as the result holds up.

You cannot buy this. You can only earn it by doing work good enough to be worth carrying. It is earned attention in its highest form, and it usually starts the same way a champion who changed jobs does, with one relationship and one result. When it arrives unprompted, it sounds a lot like a reference call you did not ask for.
