The Champion Who Changed Jobs

Your best buyer just left for a new company. That is not a lost contact. It is your warmest lead.

Warm Reconnect
Relationship-Led Selling
Earned Attention

The short answer

When a buyer who already trusts you moves companies, they become your warmest lead, not a lost one. The trust was earned with you, so it travels with them. The right move is a short, specific reconnect, not a fresh pitch.

She had bought from us once, it had gone well, and then her name disappeared from the org chart. New company, new email, new problem to solve. The lazy read is that you lost a contact. The truer read is that someone who already trusts you just walked into a building full of budget and decisions.

So we did not pitch. We sent four lines. Congratulations on the move, here is the one thing from last time that might be relevant to where you are now, no ask. She replied the same day. The relationship had not ended. It had relocated.

This is what people miss about churn in their contacts. The account changed. The trust did not. Trust is earned by the person, not the logo, which is why it gets up and leaves when they do.

A buyer who moved on is not a dead lead. They are the clearest example of earned attention there is. Treat the move as an opening, not a loss, and you will find the same pattern higher up the chain when an exec carries you into a new account. Every reconnect is one more deposit in the relationship bank account.
